Review Design Ideas for the Huron Street and Wright Farm Branches

This is your opportunity to review the schematic design ideas for the proposed Huron Street and Wright Farms Branches.

Architect Dennis Humphries completed a series of community focus groups to provide information and receive input about the design of the branches.  At each focus group meeting the architects revealed the most detailed plans to date.

The presentations are now available on the Rangeview Library District web site.  These presentation are in the Adobe PDF format. An Adobe Reader is required to view the presentations.  These files are quite large and will take some time to download.

The Rangeview Library District has now held four public focus group meetings to provide community input on the two new libraries currently in the design phase.  One facility will be located at 120th and Holly.  Pictures of the site, below, show the plot of land Rangeview purchased earlier this year.

A second library will be built at 94th and Conifer on the west side of the street.  The pictures below show that site.  The District closed on the land in June 2007.

Ground breaking for both buildings is slated for the spring of 2008.  Humphries says the hope is that the facilities will open in the first half of 2009.   Plans for both facilities include: a computer lab, cyber cafe, multi-purpose room, fireplaces, study rooms, and more than 5,000 square feet designated to children's services.

The Rangeview Library District Board has committed to building its new libraries as "sustainable" structures.  That means the facilities will be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.  these sustainable buildings, sometimes called "green" facilities can save up to 30 percent in energy costs, up to 50 percent in water usage, and reduce waste by 50 to 90 percent.
