The Perl Mack Genealogy Group began in September 2002. The original members were all patrons of the Perl Mack Library and needed help with their genealogical research. In May 2005 the North Metro Genealogy group decided to disband. Seven of their former members joined the Perl Mack group, including the former president, Ron Fox, and his wife, Dot Fox. They have been very supportive of the Perl Mack group and have made a generous donation of genealogy books for the genealogy collection housed at Perl Mack. In 2004 a Genealogy and Western History collection was designated to be housed at the Perl Mack Branch Library in conjunction with the group's research. It is the first branch in the Rangeview Library District to have this special collection and designated research area. Although a small collection, it includes how-to's and some specific locality, ethnic group, and family histories. Membership continues to grow for the group. There are now 28 active members. These members represent people living in all areas of the Rangeview Library District -- Thornton, Northglenn, Federal Heights, and Brighton, as well as unincorporated Adams County and the Perl Mack community. The group has sponsored fun holiday celebrations. Tours have also been taken of genealogical resources in the metro area. The group had a special holiday party on December 9th featuring a portrayal of Eugenia Mitchell - Queen of the Quilts. For pictures and more information, click on Genealogy Group 2006 Holiday Party.
