Family Story Time - Northglenn Branch All ages are welcome to come to the Family Story Time at the Northglenn Branch Library. Meet in the children's area on Saturday, April 26th at 10:30 AM for stories and surprises! Job Help for Teens - Perl Mack On Thursday, May 1st at 4:00 PM, the Adams County Workforce will be at the Perl Mack Branch Library to help get information into the hands of teens that are looking for a job. Many resources will be discussed and flyers handed out to help those looking for an edge in the job world. Please sign up! Moms Rock! A Family Story Time - Perl Mack Wednesday, May 7th, at 6:30 PM, Ms. Rene will host a family story time with books starring different moms and then have a craft for participants to make and take home. Marionette Show - Perl Mack Mark Hellerstein will bring his marionette show to the Library on Wednesday, May 14th at 6:30 PM. His show is suited for all ages and includes music and audience participation stories. Sign up early as space is limited. How to Sell on eBay! This special program will be presented by local eBay expert, Rich McGaughey on Saturday, May 24th at 2:00 PM at the Perl Mack Branch. Come learn helpful insider tips! Rangeview Library District Song The Library District was fortunate to secure the talents of singer/songwriter David Williams for an original song. Children helped sing the song for a video tape presentation. Look for the program on community access cable channels in the near future. Club at Commerce City Pre-teen girls are
invited to attend the Commerce City book club just for you. The next
meeting will be Friday, May 9th, 2008, at 4:00 PM. The book to
be discussed will be Little
Men by Louisa May Alcott.There will be a
craft associated with this discussion. Please note:
members will NO LONGER be receiving a free copy of each book -- all titles from

Board Games
The
Bennett Library will provide a time for playing board games. The game
playing time will be the first and third Thursdays of each month at 3:30 PM. Women's
Financial Workshops Starting in May and continuing
through the summer, a series of financial workshops will be presented on
selected Saturdays at the Thornton Branch Library. The workshops
will start at 10:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM. How Money Works: Saturday, May
3rd We all go to school 12 to 16 years
and learn reading, writing and arithmetic, but never learn anything about how
money works. In the first of a series of workshops, "How Money
Works" , you will learn the financial principals to grow your money for
college funding, retirement planning, or simply for wealth accumulation -- with
money you never even knew you had. The workshop covers the basic
principles of money, including the three enemies and three allies of wealth
accumulation. topics to be covered include basic saving strategies, compound
interest, taxation, inflation, and accumulation vehicles. IRA and 401(k) Basics - Maximize
Your Earning Potential: Saturday, May 17th Learn the basics of 401(k)s,
including vesting periods, matching, distribution, investment choices,
roll-overs, loans, risk tolerance, etc. Should you open an IRA? We
will explore such topics as Roth IRAs versus Traditional IRAs, contribution
limitations, taxation, distribution requirements, and investment choices. Retirement - Are You On
Track?: Saturday, May 31st Will you have enough money to retire
when you want to? This workshop will visit the phases of planning for
retirement, including the foundation, accumulation, preservation, and
distribution stages. This topic becomes more important in today's world
give the uncertainty of pensions and social security. In addition, we are
living longer, so we need to plan to provide income into our upper 80s and
beyond. Learn how to best plan today to ensure you retire

Saturday, June 14th What are the types of life insurance
available today and what kind is right for you and your family? How much
do I need and who should be covered? Did you know the "new" life
insurance gives you back all of your premiums paid? Did you know that the
wealthy have always used life insurance to accumulate and distribute money
tax-free? Find out the facts and learn how to calculate your family's
needs. Long Term Care - Is the Time
Right?: Saturday, June 28th We will discuss the basic care
options of Long-Term Care insurance, including Nursing Home, Assisted Living,
and Home Health Care. We will delve into issues such as amounts of
coverage, elimination periods, and potential pool of money available. The
ultimate goal is to prepare individuals and their spouses to have choices, i.e.
to be able to stay in your home and protect your family's acquired wealth. College Savings Options for
Parents and Grandparents: Saturday, August 16th What are today's options for college
saving? We will describe and compare today's programs such as, Coverdell
Plans, 529 Plans, UTMA and UGMA, plus a few other accumulation techniques.
Federal and state tax advantages, contribution requirements, ownership issues,
gifting limitations, and educational requirements will be explored and
discussed. Local Chapters of Library Friends The Rangeview Library District recognizes the critical role the
community plays in supporting libraries. The Friends of the Library is key to
building that support. In an effort to help the Friends grow, local chapters
are being established at the individual branches. These chapters will be
part of the overall organization, but will meet and operate out of their
communities. Local chapters will have the opportunity to
promote specific projects at their branches. Thus they can truly make a
difference in their libraries. Some possibilities for local chapters are: Classes in conversational English are held at the Brighton and Commerce City branches. These classes are free but require registration. The Perl Mack Genealogy Group
