Jobs Kiosk

two people using JobView job search kiosk

The Rangeview Library District is the first public library in the state to offer Jobview, a user friendly job-search tool that puts potential employment at your fingertips.  Jobview is an employment kiosk provided by the Denver Newspaper Agency.  It lists all the jobs advertised in the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post on a touch screen.  Jobview users can easily search employment, print out job listings and send employers job seeker profiles.  Anyone sending a job seeker profile receives a receipt from the kiosk confirming the application.

The Rangeview Library District now has Jobview kiosks at the Northglenn, Commerce City and Brighton branches.  In the Commerce City Branch, the kiosk is located by the adult computers across from the the circulation desk and by the jobs bulletin board.

Local Chapter of the Friends of the Library

The Rangeview Library District recognizes the critical role the community plays in supporting libraries.  The Friends of the Library is key to building that support.

In an effort to help the Friends grow, local chapters are being established at the individual branches.  These chapters will be part of the overall organization, but will meet and operate out of their communities.

Local chapters will have the opportunity to promote specific projects at their branches.  Thus they can truly make a difference in their libraries.

Some possibilities for local chapters are:

  • Run branch book sales
  • Establish a Friends gift shop
  • Create community awareness
  • Design new marketing materials
  • Support book clubs
  • Help restructure the organization
