Special Events

Community Meeting on New Library

A community meeting about the new library will be held on Monday, April 21st at 6:30 PM.  Architect Dennis Humphries will share the drawings of the new library.

Denver Author Robert Greer Appearance

Local author Robert Greer will be discussing his newest novel, The Mongoose  Deception on Tuesday, May 20th at 6:00 PM.  The story weaves an elaborate conspiracy  plot of John F. Kennedy's assassination.  The plot comes to light in Colorado following the discovery of a body in the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Greer, a Denver pathologist, says the idea of a single killer in the JFK assassination has never made sense to him and this was an opportunity to base the story in Colorado.  The story features well-known character, C. J. Floyd, a bail bondsman who appears in eight of Greer's previous novels.

Greer will be available for book signings following the presentation.

Spring Tea

The Bennett Branch Spring Tea will be on Wednesday, May 28th at 3:30.  Bring your tea cups and enjoy this event.  Hats are always appropriate for the Tea.

Local Chapter of the Friends of the Library

The Rangeview Library District recognizes the critical role the community plays in supporting libraries.  The Friends of the Library is key to building that support.

In an effort to help the Friends grow, local chapters are being established at the individual branches.  These chapters will be part of the overall organization, but will meet and operate out of their communities.

Local chapters will have the opportunity to promote specific projects at their branches.  Thus they can truly make a difference in their libraries.

Some possibilities for local chapters are:

  • Run branch book sales
  • Establish a Friends gift shop
  • Create community awareness
  • Design new marketing materials
  • Support book clubs
  • Help restructure the organization

Art Display

The Library displays the works of local artists.  These displays change each month.

The current art display is mixed media by Strasburg High School art classes.  The display case features all different types of music box houses by Bonnie Mcgrew.
